Date: Oct 18th to Nov 29th
Three artists Stephan Stiehler, David Demers and Chen Qiang, from Germany, United States and China, will have their abstract art exhibition at the Aroundspace in October.
Similar in age, different from art background, the three artists coincidently choose abstract art as their approach. Nevertheless, it is not only an interaction among different cultures, but more than an exploration and interpretation of the origin of abstraction.
In their works, we can discover the essence of abstract art. Their art has abandoned depiction and appreciation from a one-way channel, yet required the participation and interaction from the audience; they also discarded a narrative vocabulary, yet intended to express their feelings from the bottom of the hearts. No matter where the audience comes from, he or she may “feel” these works, through his/her own experience, and may get an individual visual fulfillment. Therefore, the artists exaggerated the most intrinsic part of art: intuition.
Also, the most changeable emotions of human beings can inevitably be captured by images and words; however, they can be extended unlimitedly in the realm of abstraction.
