As you know, AroundSpace Gallery has moved
out of No. 696 Weihai Road
and relocated to a new space close to the Bund at Jiangchuan Building,
No. 294, Sichuan Zhong Road.
In its new home, AroundSpace will keep up its mission to promote contemporary
Chinese art; to re-define and re-interpret traditional Chinese aesthetics, and
focus on the study of inheriting and developing Chinese culture; to support
“art without boundaries,” which encourages young artists to eliminate the
difference of national identities while they are creating art.
We are thrilled to present eleven artists’
new works in our inaugural show in this new home on July 30th, 2011. The
artists include Ji Dachun, who hasn’t shown in Shanghai for a while, Ni Youyu, a young
artist who attracts much attention lately, as well as two emerging artists
working in video and photography: Shan Feiming and Yi Lan.
